Cultural evening enthrals DG ICCR

The Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) C Rajasekher who was on a three-day visit to Manipur left for New Delhi this morning.
Last evening, the DG witnessed various cultural performances like Maibi Jagoi, Thougal Jagoi, Thang-Ta and Manipuri music at Maharaja Chandrakriti auditorium.
During his visit, Rajasekher called on Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, the Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University and cultural personalities of the State and discussed about cooperation between the State and ICCR in the field of culture.

Speaking at the cultural evening at Maharaja Chandrakriti auditorium, Rajasekher expressed desire to work with the State in promoting culture.
He assured that from this year, ICCR along with other foreign cultural delegations will attend the Manipur Sangai Festival.
During the programme, dance troupe from Thoiba Manipuri Dance and Cultural Research Institute performed Mabi and Khamba-Thoibi dance while Hueiyen Lanlong Manipuri Thang Ta Cultural Association, Irilbung presented Thang-Ta.
The cultural evening concluded with an impressive performance by Rhythms of Manipur.
