Imphal, May 17 2021:
The Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) has paid utmost respect to late Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam, and late Dr Richard Doumai, who passed away recently.
In a press note, MSF not only expressed solidarity to the family of those frontline workers who had fell victim to Covid pandemic which is ravaging across the country but also mourned the demise of Dr Richard Doumai, a Senior Resident in Urology Department of JNIMS due to COVID-19 on May 15 .
Unfortunately, former ENT Specialist of RIMS, Dr Jodhachandra too left for the heavenly abode yesterday after his covid test result returned negative a few days back leaving a deep void among medical and literary fraternities, it said.
The doctor had invaluable contributions to the Manipur Literature and had attended many MSF-organised literary events as a judge.
These personalities and other frontline warriors had and have been serving selflessly for the State's cause and MSF feel extremely grateful for all their contributions, it said.
MSF not only expressed concern over the grim situation the second wave of pandemic has created in the State but also called on all sections of the societies, CSOs, philanthropic organisations and individuals to join hands to effectively fight the pandemic.
The pandemic, this time, has pushed the State's healthcare system beyond the limit, it said while noting the issue of inadequacy in the number of Covid-beds and medical oxygen in hospitals across the State.
MSF also expressed gratitude to all individuals, bodies who have been contributing and providing assistance towards the fight against COVID-19 in the State.
MSF also went on to draw the attention of the State Government to consider the hardships of the people during these days owing to forms of restrictions in place.
While acknowledging the sacrifices of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers, law enforcing agencies, covid-volunteers, TT drivers, transporters, CSOs, student bodies, local clubs, Meira Pabies, NGOs, philanthropic organisations, social workers etc, MSF prayed for wellbeing of these personalities.
