NSCN-K claims Senapati blast, civil bodies condemn

Amidst vocal protest and condemnations, the NSCN-K Shepoumaramth region has claimed responsibility of the bomb blast that occurred at Senapati DC office yesterday evening at around 7.50.With no human casualty reported, a room allotted to Planning Department was shattered and a concrete wall damaged.
According to Hillson Pou, Information and Publicity in-charge, NSCN-K Shepoumaramth region, the blast was to protest the negligence of its voice and those sacrificed for the cause of the Naga sovereignty.
It also sought the cooperation of individuals, organizations and department in its endeavour.
A four member team of forensic experts from Manipur Police arrived at the blast scene and collected important items to investigate into the blast.
The 35 AR sniffer dog was also deployed to detect any other items with Senapati police cordoning off the DC office complex for the day.
Meanwhile, an emergency joint meeting of all apex bodies including NPO, SDSA, SDWA and five Tribe Hohos was held today to discuss the unfortunate incident of the bomb blast at public place.
The house resolved that a mass public protest rally will be held tomorrow at Senapati district headquarters (DHQ).
It has informed all notified village leaders and villagers within the DHQ area to participate in the rally.
All shop establishments and normal activities will be halted during the protest rally.
The joint meeting also strongly condemned the incident stating that, it is never a part of the Naga's culture.
Such cowardice act and anti-social element cannot be tolerated by peace loving general public.
The meeting noted that the attack on DC office, an important system in the public administration is a direct challenge to the people of the district.
While urging the concerned authorities to immediately investigate, book, and punish those responsible befittingly, the group or individual should come out clean before the public and clarify at the earliest.
The house also decided that, any group involved in the incident will not be allowed to function or based at Senapati district.
