Imphal, May 06 2013:
Committee on Protection of Hill Areas Manipur (COPTAM) has urged the people of the State not to give communal interpretation to the land dispute between Seijang and Silent villages.
The committee made the appeal today while handing over relief material to the victims of May 3 arson at Silent village.
COPTAM general secretary Thangkam Lupheng said that the State Government must be responsible for the ugly incident happened at Silent village as the Govt failed to intervene into the matter in time.
Had an exact boundary been drawn by the Government in time, the incident might not have happened, Thangkam Lupheng said.
