Plebiscite meets under scan

Police have started watching public discussions on 'Public participation in bringing solution to Manipur-India conflict'.
Most of the meetings resolved that a plebiscite is the better option to bring a peaceful political solution to the armed conflict in the state.
Such meetings have taken place in different parts of the valley like, Sekmai, Lamsang and Yairipok.
The police acted on the meeting at Mayang Langjing on February 27 .
They registered a suo motu case under section 153-B (Imputation, assertion prejudicial to national integration)/120-B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC and 39 UA-(P)-A Act at the Lamsang PS on March 2 .
The FIR of the case says the meeting discussed on whether Manipur will remain within the Indian Union or secede from India.
It also resolved to settle the present "underground conflict in Manipur through a plebiscite" .
The resolutions tantamount to excite or attempt to excite feelings against the government established by law in India, with a conspiracy to support UG outfits in Manipur by holding meetings and through speeches furthering the cause of UG outfits, the police observed in the case.
The meeting held at Mayang Langjing Community hall was attended by L Jadumani Singh, advocate, Th Manihar Singh, president of Mapi Council, Kh Ramani Devi secretary Nupi Samaj, Konthoujam Chaoba Singh, president, Planning Development Club, Yengkhom Muhindro, president, Mayang Langjing Youth Library and others as mention in the FIR.
However, police did not register the case directly against any individuals or participants of the meeting.
