Imphal, September 28 2017:
Strongly negating the claim made by CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam that there is no fixed SK oil quota for MLAs, MPCC spokesperson and MLA Kh Joykisan said the Minister made the statement due to his immaturity .
Addressing media persons at his residence located at Thangmeiband, MLA Kh Joykisan said it is very unfortunate that he was made a scapegoat for speaking out the wrongs of the Govt.Entitlements of MLAs and former MLAs are clearly mentioned in The Salaries and Allowances of Members of the Legislative Assembly (Manipur) Act, 1972 (as amended upto 20th amendment Act, 2014).An order to this effect was also issued by Deputy Secretary (Administration), Manipur Legislative Assembly
As per the Act, each MLA is entitled to get 900 litres of petrol, 3000 litres of SK oil per month and annual Local Area Development Fund of Rs 1 crore, Joykisan said .
The statement of the Minister and the official order contradict each other, Joykisan pointed out while urging all concerned to follow and adhere to rules/Act .
Joykisan also said it was very unfortunate that MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar said the SK oil is available in plenty in Andro AC and if required he can send someone to deliver SK oil to Thangmeiband AC .
Joykisan said he is not envying the SK oil quota of Andro AC but he is demanding that the SK oil be made available to all equally .
Shyamkumar would do better in taking fitting action against a Corporator of IMC who withdrew funds without executing works, Joykisan said.
