The Government of India's share in National Cadet Corps' expenditure will be raised from 56 percent to 75, a PIB (DW) statement quoted the Director General of NCC Lt Gen MC Bhandari as saying.
Addressing NCC cadet who are participating in the ongoing Youth Exchange Programme at New Delhi today the NCC DG also announced Centre's approval to bear cent per cent expenditure of NCC camps and training conducted in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East, the statement maintained.
Lt Gen Bhandari besides announcing Government's endeavour to increase share of NCC girls cadet to 30 percent from 18 PC in the next five years also underscored Centre's proposal to extend YEP to seven more countries thereby bulging participant countries to 17.Basking under several achievements of the NCC organisation and feats accomplished by cadets, he also spelled out programmes in the coming years including active participation in development of waste land and afforestation in villages.
