Imphal, July 26 2015:
Barak bridge will remain cut off to vehicles for almost a month after a vehicle of Power Grid weighing around 40 tonnes reportedly tried to cross the bridge today, reports Jiri News Network.
It may be noted that the authority concerned had prohibited loaded trucks which weigh more than 40 tonnes to pass the bridge.

At around 12 am today, a vehicle of Power Grid tried to cross the bridge.
According to the sources, the bridge started to tilt when the vehicle reached half way along the bridge.
Speaking to reporters, Lt Col JS, Commandant, 765 BRTF, said that passenger carrying vehicles have been made to commute through old Barak bridge.
"Considering the bridge's holding capacity, loaded vehicles which weigh more than 20 tonnes are not allowed to cross the bridge.
However, drivers would secretly try to cross the bridge.
The bridge needs to be reconstructed and is expected to take at least a month," the Commandant added.
