Imphal, January 25 2017:
CPI National Council Secretary Atul Kumar Anjaan has expressed keen desire to set up a new Government in Manipur without either Congress or BJP after the 11th State Assembly election.
Speaking to media persons at CPI State Council office (Irawat Bhavan) here today, Atul Kumar Anjaan said that Congress party is run by one man in Manipur while BJP is largely constituted by defectors.
The previous record of over 100 days economic blockade seen during the Congress rule would be surpassed this time.
Even as the ongoing economic blockade has pushed the entire population of Manipur under extreme misery, the Congress Government of the State and the Centre's BJP Government have been blaming each other rather than taking up any tangible step to end the people's misery, Atul Kumar Anjaan remarked.
When there was economic blockade in Haryana for four days, Central paramilitary forces were sent and the blockade was cleared.
But both the State Government and the Central Government have been acting as silent spectators when there is economic blockade for more than 80 days in Manipur, he continued.
He hinted that the Left Democratic Front Manipur (LDFM) comprising of CPI, CPI-M, NCP, AAP, JD-U and MNDF may announce its candidates in the first week of February.
The NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is heading in the direction of defeat.
BJP has very slim chances of winning the Manipur election.
BJP is one party formed by political leaders who do not comply with their professional ethics.
On the other hand, even as Congress party has been in power for the past 15 years in Manipur, they have done very little for development of the State and welfare of people, Atul Kumar Anjaan remarked.
CPI Manipur State Secretary Moirangthem Nara appealed to all the people of Manipur to vote for candidates of their choice without any sense of fear or reservation.
He also urged the Election Commission of India to ensure that the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election is held in a free and fair manner.
