Guv, CM and others greet people on Christmas

Governor Dr Ashwani Kumar and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi led others in greeting the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Christmas.
In his message, Ashwani Kumar said that Christmas is celebrated across the globe as the birthday of Lord Jesus.
He said, "While paying our obeisance to this Son of God, on the occasion of Christmas, let us re-dedicate ourselves to the ideals propounded by Him so that peace prevails in the trouble torn world".
Lord Jesus, an apostle of peace preached a new world order based on justice, humility and equality of mankind, the Governor said.
In his message, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that the festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ is an occasion to celebrate and imbibe the Lord Jesus Christ's message of love, compassion and forgiveness.
He wished, "May the Christmas bell dispel the hatred and violence and spread the message of love, trust and compassion amongst all the communities in the State to usher in happiness, peace and prosperity for all.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar said, "I hope that the doctrines and principles of Lord Jesus will bring peace, love, unity and harmony among the mankind.
Let us forget ill-wills, enmity among us and try to bring a good and prosperous State with the coming of New Year, 2014". Greeting the people of the State, Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray said, "May the Prince peace shower peace and prosperity upon all the people during this Christmas and the New Year to come".
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has also extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas.
In his message, Gaikhangam said, "May the Almighty shower his bounteous blessings on all the people of Manipur on this festive occasion".
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra and all ranks of Assam Rifles also extended warm greeting and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas.
"Christmas is a time of great joy, cheer, hope and happiness.
It proclaims Lord Jesus Christ's message of love, sacrifice and forgiveness, compassion and service, courage and humility, peace and harmony.
We pray to Almighty to keep a benevolent eye on the people of Manipur to bring peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the days ahead," a PRO IGAR (South) quoted the General officer as saying in his message.
CPI Manipur State Council, BJP Manipur Pradesh, Shiv Sena Manipur State, United Committee Manipur, United People's Front, Manipur, Manipuri Students' Federation, United Minority and Student's Federation of North East and Elite Foundation Manipur have also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
