Tribal Languages Day on Nov 8

A Tribal Languages Day-cum-Workshop on literary progress of the 34 tribal languages of Manipur would be held on November 8 at Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong Imphal, according to chairman, Council of Tribal Languages and Literature Societies, Manipur, Ragongning Gangmei.
The workshop will be based on 34 tribal languages including Aimol, Anal, Angami, Chiru, Chothe, Gangte, Hmar, Inpui, Koireng, Kom, Kharam, Lamkang, Liangmai, Mao, Maring, Mate, Mizo, Monsang, Moyon, Paite, Paumai, Purum, Ralte, Ruangmei (Kabui), Sahte, Sema, Simte, Tangkhul, Tarao, Thangal, Thadou-Kuki, Vaiphei, Zeme and Zou.
Topics on brief literary progress from the respective tribes/language groups including a brief interaction on issues of tribal languages in Manipur and the process of approval of tribal languages for introduction in education system would be highlighted at the workshop.
