Citing different reasons and highlighting the hardships caused by the curfew, several organisations have appealed to the Government to lift the curfew.
The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association appealed to the Government to lift the curfew in view of the class X, XI and XII examinations scheduled to commence from February 27 in which around one lakh students are appearing.
The Association further observed that many families are suffering great hardships for lack of essential commodities including food because of the curfew.
In another press release, the All Manipur Nupi Marup noted that several households of daily wage earners have been starving while food items like fish and vegetables have perished due to the curfew.
The Marup also urged upon the Government to lift the curfew immediately.
The All India Students Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council has also appealed to lift the curfew in view of the forthcoming Board (BSEM) and Council (COHSEM) examinations.
The students who are appearing in the crucial examinations have been facing severe problems fur to the curfew, it said.
Following imposition of curfew right after the 48 hours bandh called in denunciation of the brutal murder of SDO Dr Th Kishan and his two staff, all patients have been facing great hardships for non-availability of medicines and life saving drugs as all pharmacies remained shut due to the curfew, noted the Manipur Chemists and Druggists Association (MCDA) while urging the Government to lift the curfew.
It also condemned the brutal murder of Dr Th Kishan and his two staff.
