Imphal, March 19 2013:
The ban imposed on sale of Valley Strong brand of cement in Manipur by IPSA has been lifted from today.
Speaking to media persons today in the presence of top officials of Assam based Barak Valley Limited which manufactures Valley Strong cement, IPSA president Elangbam Johnson said that the cement brand was banned based on the complaints of some customers.
The ban has been lifted at the assurance of the company's officials to investigate and penalise all those responsible for the goof-up.
Valley Cement Limited vice-president Mukesh Agarwal maintained their company never manufactured or marketed any cement which is sub-standard.
Rather cement manufactured by the valley Cement Limited is being used in construction of tunnels for the railway project in Manipur.
Those cements seized by IPSA because they did not have the qualities of cement would be tested in the Manipur Institute of Technology.
If any adulteration is detected, the Silchar dealer of the company would be sacked.
He also appealed to the people to buy Valley Strong cement only from authorised dealers.
He further informed that the company would start manufacturing a special cement brand after a few months for use in Manipur only.
