Imphal, December 17 2016:
The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has appealed to all the people of Manipur not to let themselves fall prey to the divisive policies hatched by the Government of India, NSCN-IM and the UNC.
Speaking to media persons at their Lamphelpat office today, UCM president Elang- bam Johnson called upon all the people to identify the elements who are responsible for the current state of unrest and fight the inimical forces collectively.
In the midst of the indefinite economic blockade imposed by the UNC since last month, NSCN-IM launched an offensive against Manipur police but the Government of India has been acting as a silent spectator, he said.
All the people need to identify those elements who are responsible for all the misery they have been suffering and struggle collectively.
People are aware about the primary objective of NSCN-IM.
Imposing restrictions and counter-restrictions by different communities against each other and letting emotions overcome rationale would tantamount to falling in the traps laid by adversary forces, Johnson said.
He further urged the State Government to declare the UNC as an unlawful organisation.
Manipur was created by different communities who have been living together inside its territory for centuries.
He also called upon all the people to stop hurling allegations and counter allegations against each other.
