AR observes I-Day in state

To mark the fervuor and festivity of 65th Independence Day, Assam Rifles units under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) participated in and organized various function throughout the state.
The programmes commenced with hoisting of the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem and continued with various cultural and folk items presented by different schools and youth clubs.
Participation of locals remained the highlight of the programme with patriotic songs, cultural programme and skits presented by students and members of youth clubs.
The Commandant, 42 Assam Rifles shared his presence with Deputy Commissioner in the celebration function.
The Battalion Band displayed their thrilling performance and won the hearts of spectator at Maha Union High School Play Ground, Chandel.
The Deputy Commissioner on behalf of district administration conveyed his gratitude to 42 Assam Rifles for their help extended in every quarter of development of the district.
29 Assam Rifles celebrated the 64th Independence Day by interacting with the villagers and distribution of sweets the villagers of Shaibol, Narum, Kwatha, RRC, Sita, Chelep and Lokchao.
A colourful programme was organised in Sajik Valley by 35 Assam Rifles in which Schools, youth clubs and locals of Sajik Valley participated wholeheartedly.
The highlight of the celebrations was a spirited and flawless marching by the seasoned veteran soldiers of Sajik Valley which drew the loudest cheers.
Message of peace and harmony, and distribution of Sweets Marked Independence Day celebration organised at vibrant New Samtal village in Chandel district by 36 Assam Rifles.
65th Independence Day was celebrated today with full military traditions & patriotic fervour by Assam Rifles of in Distt Ukhrul.
Locals of nearby 08 villages joined in these celebrations with full enthusiasm.
The tunes of military band filled the environment with chauvism & chivalry.
People were joyfilled on witnessing the "Know Your Army" stall where various weapons of Assam Rifles the military were displayed for all.
Medical camp, Cafeteria and CSD facilities were also extended to the locals.
A colourful Independence Day was celebrated by Lilong Post of 28 Assam Rifles at Isamic English High School, Lilong Tamay.
Children participated in the event with full zest and enthusiasm and were distributed books and stationary.
