CCpur, November 15 2020:
The Joint Students' Body, Churachandpur has extended their firm support to the call made by the student bodies viz DESAM, ANSAM, and AIMS to clean up Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) .
A statement released by the student body stated that an event where the whole exam was quashed after the selected candidates had already been in service for about three years has never happened before anywhere.
This event is not only shameful but also has taken a toll on the State's finance, the salary paid to the terminated officers amounted to many crores of rupees.
The student body questioned whether the State was rich enough to waste public wealth in this manner.
They said this fund could have been used to mend various basic needs of the State.
Further the student body also enquired about the impact of the quashing of the examination on the genuine aspirants and career of those affected by the fiasco.
The statement further urged the Government to make it a priority to take up strict action to ensure that MPSC is cleansed from top to bottom.
It also questioned how the MPSC is planning to conduct, re-examination of MCSCCE 2016 when the Commission has currently no members and the Chairman is set to retire at the end of this month.
It also appealed to the general public not to stigmatise and tarnish the image of all the terminated officers on public platforms and social media as some of them might just be collateral damage.
