Imphal, September 15 2011:
All Manipur Autonomous Districts Council Teachers' Association has expressed resentment over alleged step-motherly treatment of the State Govt towards the employees under the six Autonomous District Councils in Manipur.
An emergency meeting of the Association held at Hotel Tampha here yesterday strongly denounced the indifferent attitude of the Govt towards the problems and grievances of the District Council employees.
In this regard, the Association had earlier submitted numerous representations and memorandums but no positive response have been ever received.
Among other grievances of the ADC employees, the Association pointed out that 5th Pay ROP arrears, which has been christened as 14 percent DA arrears for period from January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2005 has not been given to the employees of the six ADCs in Manipur.
Moreover, payment of six months arrears to all the Govt employees for the period from October 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 in two equal instalments has not been effected for the ADC employees.
Over and above this, ADC employees have not received their monthly salary from May to September 2011, thereby subjecting the poor employees to economic hardship.
Inspite of all these, exception of employees of ADC from drawing their salary for the month of August, 2011 in the order issued by the Finance Dept on August 27 last was very unfortunate and it has acted like salt to their wounds, the Association observed in a statement, while demanding release of their pending arrears within September 30 positively.
