National symposium starts at DMC Science

A two-day national symposium on 'Recent Advances in Biotechnology' organised by Department of Zoology, DM College of Science under the sponsorship of Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India commenced from today at DMC Science (Room No.17) .
Inaugural function of the symposium was attended by Manipur University vice Chancellor Prof H Nandakumar Sharma and DMC Science Principal Dr P Ranabir Singh as the chief guest and president respectively with IBSD Director Dr NC Talukdar and former MU Vice chancellor Prof H Tombi Singh gracing the occasion as the guests of honour.
Noting rapid advancement and breakthrough achievement in biotechnology-related researches throughout the world, Prof Nandakumar strongly advocated involvement of more research scholars in the field as the subject has become an important factor in the well-being of living beings.
Expressing confidence that research in the field of biotechnology will boost the morale of poultry and livestock farmers in addition to enhancing agriculture products, the Vice chancellor also said teachers will have to enact their role as guide to the students.
In his address, Principal P Ranabir said conducting similar programmes with active participation of many more science teachers would be helpful in comprehensive understanding of the subject .
