SDC accused

Sub-Deputy Collector, Heingang under Imphal East district has been accused of involving in an illegal allotment of land to one Aribam Ningol Kongbrailatpam Ongbi Inaotombi of Uripok Takhellambam Leikai Naoremthong and Hidangmayum Purnachandra Sharma of Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai.
The revelation came into light after Chingmeirong Yengkhoiba Menjor Mamang Leikai Singlup initiated steps to construct community hall and community pond at Dag no 316 under village Laipham Siphai.
Narrating the incidents to media persons, secretary of the Singlup A Kuber stated that their steps to construct community hall were halted after Aribam Ibomcha Sharma started constructing a kutcha house in the area claiming ownership of the community land.
On further investigation through RTI application to the Sub-Deputy Collector, Heingang Imphal East it was found that the land still belongs to the locality and there were no records of land holdings or allotment by Aribam Ningol Kongbrailatpam Ongbi Inaotombi and Hidangmayum Purnachandra Sharma, Kuber added.
Further, he said that the attention of the Deputy Collector, Imphal East was earlier drawn to intervene against the unauthorized possession of Leikai land as it may lead to unwanted incidents.
The Singlup demanded that the concerned authorities should take the rightful steps at the earliest to settle the issue.
The SDC who was involved in the forgery case should be booked by the concerned authorities, he added.
Further he warned that if the authorities fails to book the SDC and all other involved in the case, the SDC office will be locked within five days.
