TNL assembly approves Hopingson A Shimray's resignation

The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) assembly has approved the resignation of Hopingson A' Shimray from the post of 'TNL President' with immediate effect.
Speaking to media persons at Phungreitang, Ukhrul, Hopingson said that TNL on Tuesday convened the longshim/assembly and unanimously approved his resignation letter considering his situation.
Hopingson expressed his gratitude to the Tangkhul community for their relentless support and stated that the consolidated support of his colleague, executive members, zonal chairman, headmen and others in spite of all his shortcomings made his time as the president harmonious and eventful.
He appealed to all the leaders, headmen to continue the same spirit and co-operate with the new president for the betterment of the community.
While expressing his intention of joining the saffron party, Hopingson mentioned that the BJP concentrates on equal development and is more resourceful and trustworthy in execution of all Government work programmes or activities.
It may be mentioned that Hopingson A Shimray had earlier tendered his resignation letter to the in order to prepare for contesting in the forthcoming Manipur State General Election 2022 from 43-Phungyar Assembly Constituency.
Hopingson voluntarily resigned from Indian Railway Account Service (IRAS) in 2017 to participate in electoral politics and serve the people of Manipur especially Phungyar Assembly Constituency.
However, he was unable to participate in the election but was later elected as the TNL president in 2018 in the greater interest of the Tangkhul community.
