Leadership camp ends

The three-day Youth's Leadership Residential Camp, 2014-15 held under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation, AMUCO came to a close at Manipur University Centenary hall today.
The residential camp was jointly organised by Western All Clubs Association, WACA, Imphal, RUCO, Lamshang, UCO, Uripok and SLUCO, Canchipur.
The closing ceremony was presided by MU Vice-Chancellor Dr H Nandakumar , AMUCO advisor KT Rah-man, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president L Memchoubi, ISTV News Editor in chief Bro-zendro Ningombam and IMPACT TV News editor-in-chief Rupachandra Yum- nam as chief guest, functional president and guests of honour respectively.
A total of 260 youths attended the three-day long residential camp.
The closing ceremony was attended by various civil organisations and Meira Paibi associations of the State.
Event spokesperson Sobita Mongshatabam of Women Action for Development (WAD) elaborated on the topics of crime, confilct, corrup- tion and human right's violation during her speech.
Speaking on the occasion, MU VC Nandakumar said the moral behaviour of youths of the new generation has degraded to a large extent com- pared to older generations.
Youths play an important role in the shaping of a better society.
They should be given proper awareness about their duties towards the society.
AMUCO advisor KT Rahman, during his speech, said similar camp for youths have been held at various districts under the organisation in the past.
The organisation would continue to sponspor more such camps at Bishnupur, Palel, Chandel, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Senapati and Jiribam, he added.
The three-day leadership camp was organised with an aim to instill positive thoughts among youths.
It also aimed to educate the younger generations of their duties towards building a better society, he added.
IMPACT TV News Editor in chief Rupachandra Yumnam, during his speech said that the knowledge of one's culture and tradition plays a major role in the development of a society.
He further lauded AMUCO for organising such camps.
Making similar observations, ISTV New Editor in chief Brozendro, L Memchoubi and Sobita Mongshatabam also discussed the importance of youths and their possible contributions in the development of a society.
