Imphal, November 11 2020:
180 fresh COVID-19 infections have been reported in Manipur while the disease claimed two lives in the last 24 hours taking the death toll due to coronavirus to 202 .
The total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 20957 with 3057 active cases.
The latest victims include a 35 year-old man and an 87-year-old man from Imphal West.
They died at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively, said a report of COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director Health, Dr Sasheekumar Mangang.
Meanwhile, the 180 fresh COVID-19 cases include 176 civilians and 4 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
The 176 civilians hail from Imphal West (68), Imphal East (30), Thoubal (22), Bishnupur (15), Tamenglong (14), Kangpokpi (12), Churachandpur (5), Tengnoupal (2), Kakching (2), Chandel (2), Jiribam (2), Pherzawl (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All of them have no significant travel history and they are being shifted to COVID-19 Care Centres (CCCs).
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the Government report.
On the other hand, 164 persons have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
93 of them were under home isolation while the remaining were discharged from CCCs at Thoubal (34), JNIMS (7), LKK (7), UNACCO (6), Sadbhavna (4), Lamding (4), Bal Bhavan (2), Bishnupur (2), Kangpokpi (2), TK Ukhrul (1), Lanva (1) and Tamenglong (1).The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 20957 including 18117 civilians and 2840 security personnel.
The number of recovered cases has reached 17698 including 14766 civilians and 2604 Central security personnel.
The breakup from the COVID-19 Common Control Room however does not match with the total recovered cases given.
The State has 3057 active cases including 2825 civilians and 232 security personnel.
The recovery rate is at 84.44 percent, said the report which is a slight improvement from the earlier rate of 84.39 percent.
