Govt yet to appoint TRI Deputy Director despite notification

Over four months after a notification issued by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), the Government of Manipur of Manipur is yet to appoint the Deputy Director of Tribal Research Institute (TRI) .
The MPSC notification dated Jnuary 8, 2015 issued by Secretary Shyam Lal Poonia had recommended the appointment of Deputy Director of TRI based on the merit list provided by the commission on the basis of the examination held on December 12, 2014 and five candidates selected to appear for personality test which was held on January 8, 2015 .
Based on the marks obtained in both the written examination and personality test, the MPSC prepared a combined merit list of candidates.
Thereafter, MSPC had recommended that the vacant post (Un-reserved) of the TRI Deputy Director should be appointed from the five candidates shortlisted according to merit and marks obtained by each candidate.
The five candidates who made it to the merit list include Ngasepam Pikeshwor Singh (OBC-(M) who secured first position with 227 marks followed by Yumnam Lalit Singh from General Category with 222 marks.
The other three listed in order of merit include Yumnam Nonglen Meetei (OBC-(M) who secured 221.5 makrs; Ngamlinlung Thaimei (ST) with 220 marks and Irom Prabin Meitei (OBC-(M) with 210 marks.
