Curfew relaxed in all districts

Imphal, May 07 2023:
In view of the improving situation in the State, district administrations have issued temporary relief from the indefinite curfew on May 8 .
According to a statement, curfew has been lifted from 5 am to 8 am for Imphal East and Imphal West; 1 pm to 3 pm for Thoubal, Kangpokpi and Kakching; 5 am to 10 am for Jiribam; 8 am to 10 am for Bishnupur; 6 am to 6 pm for Pherzawl; 6 am to 10 am and 1 pm to 3 pm for Chandel and 7 am to 10 am for Churachandpur and Tengnoupal respectively.
A common helpline desk (contact nos: 7005706576/ 9862064020/ 7005475374/ 7005257760/ 9856575317/ 8794475406/ 8730931414/ 9436034077) has also been set up at Old Secretariat, Imphal to address distress calls, the statement added.
Relief camps have been set up in the affected districts to provide shelter and food to affected individuals and families.
The Government has been facilitating safe passage to affected persons trying to reach their homes across the State.
Adding that the Government is firmly committed to fighting violence and checking the tension in the State, it appealed to the people against spreading false and biased information on social media platforms or through mobile phone messages which could further fuel the violence.
Curfew was imposed after Manipur went up in flames following the Tribal Solidarity March on May 3 .
