3 hurt in BJP, Cong clash

Imphal, February 06 2017:
At least three persons were injured in a reported election-related clash that broke out between supporters of BJP and Congress during a rally taken out at Kyamgei today.
This was claimed by secretary of Kyamgei Apunba Nupi Chaokhat Lup, A Ibeyaima.
The injured persons are identified as Chingakham Mocha, Nepram Sobha and Yumnam Baby.
She said that two of the three injured are undergoing treatment at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
In connection with the forthcoming State Assembly election to be held on March 4 and 8, she urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take up effective measures to thwart any election-related incident that may crop up in Keirao Assembly Constituency.
She also appealed to supporters of all the intending candidates not to resort to violent acts.
Saying that denizens of Keirao are peace loving people, Ibeyaima expressed hope that such act would not recur in the future.
