Road blocked

The road blockade imposed on the road leading from Napet Palli to Moirangpurel or Andro has completed the second day today.
The road has been blocked demanding immediate construction of the dilapidated road.
A large number of people blocked the road at Nongren.
Nongpok Kakching.
Laikoi-ching.
Ningthemchakhul and Oksu.
JAC Napet Palli to Andro Road Development Association convenor Naorem Rabi said that the JAC was constituted by aggrieved people settled along the dilapidated road.
Demanding re-construction of the road, the JAC launched a blockade along the road for 72 hours starting from October 2 .
Even as the JAC took up the matter with Works Minister and local MLA Ksh Biren, the Minister maintained that the road would not be repaired as the JAC raised the matter with a bandh.
The blockade would be lifted at 6 am tomorrow and the JAC would wait for one week.
In case the road repairing work is not started by the end of this week, movement of all vehicles including those transporting machinery and construction materials for Mapithel Dam along the road would be prohibited, Rabi said.
Meanwhile, as police tried to disperse protesters who were blocking the road by firing tear gas shells, one woman was injured.
On the other hand, BJP Manipur Pradesh executive members Mongjam Poireihenba and Khumanthem Saratkumar inspected the road and interacted with the protesting people today.
They assured that they would repair the road to a passable stage even if the State Government refuses to repair it.
The injured woman identified as Hijam Merina (21) d/ o Ibomcha of Nongren Mayai Leikai is currently undergoing treatment at JNIMS.
