Home Guard association warns to launch cease work strike

Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association has warned to launch cease work strike if the State Government fail to implement the Supreme Court order of March 11 2015 .
The decision was taken at the general body meeting of home guard personnel that was held at the association's office at Lamphelpat today.
The Home Gurads also resolved not to attend the upcoming Republic Day celebration.

The Supreme Court on March 11, 2015, directed the State Governments to pay Home Guards duty allowance at rates equalling the minimum monthly pay that the police personnel were entitled to.
This direction should be implemented in the next three months, the judgement had said.
The Home Guard association has been pushing for the implementation of the SC order in the State since April 8, 2015 .
The attending association president, home guard personnel and battalion commanders resolved to launch protests if the State Government fail to implement the SC order by January 6 .
