Bidding farewell to 2014 which it termed as a tragic year for the people of Manipur, AITC State unit president Th Shyamkumar prayed that the new year 2015 may usher in communal harmony, development and an era free from bandhs and blockades.
Speaking to some media persons today, Shyamkumar said that 2014 was filled with unwanted incidents like bomb blasts and ethnic conflicts.
Construction of a few roads and bridges were counted as the Government's achievement in the year 2014 while it failed miserably in maintenance of law and order.
Discovery of skulls and skeletal remains after civilians were killed and buried under the shadow of AFSPA should not be allowed to recur in 2015 .
Entry fee of Rs 10 would be charged on each visitor who comes to Santhel Park and Pannam Garden on New Year's Day.
For students coming in school uniforms, the entry fee would be only Rs 2 .
Income earned from the entry fee would be utilized in development works of the park and the garden, Shyamkumar said.
