Covid claims one more, 116 test positive

Even as one more individual has fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, the daily positivity rate has declined to 6.3 per cent as 116 people were confirmed positive out of 1853 samples tested for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
The latest victim hailed from Imphal East and he was not vaccinated.
The fresh positive cases were detected at RIMS (9), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (104), and they are residents of Imphal East (30), Imphal West (52), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (6), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (1), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi (1) .
Whereas the death toll has risen to 1847, the State posted a recovery rate of 96.70 per cent on Monday.
Except for Chandel, Kamjong, Imphal East and Imphal West which recorded positivity rates of 16.2 per cent, 9.7 per cent, 9.5 per cent and 8.1 per cent respectively, all other districts logged positivity rates below 6 per cent.
Following recovery, 129 COVID-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (44), RIMS (4), JNIMS (9), CCCs (57) and CHICs (15) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,20,000 (general population 1,15,725 and Central security personnel 4,275) .
This figure includes 2,111 active cases (general population 2,061 and Central security personnel 50) and 1,16,042 recovered cases (general population 1,11,822 and Central security personnel 4,220) .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 957 D-type oxygen cylinders and 242 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Taking into account 831 people vaccinated on September 26, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has climbed to 16,71,136 (1st dose 12,19,632 and 2nd dose 4,51,504) .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 195; ICU/HDU beds 24), JNIMS (general beds 39; ICU/HDU beds 4), CMC (general beds 29; ICU/HDU beds 8), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 47; ICU/HDU beds 40) and Raj Medicity (general beds 80; ICU/HDU beds 24) .
