Positivity rate at 9.7 pc, 311 cases, 3 deaths logged

Imphal, August 27 2021:
For the second time in the month of August, the daily positivity rate dipped below the 10 figure mark to return a figure of 9.7 percent with 311 persons returning positive results out of 3199 samples tested.
This is the second lowest daily positivity rate so far in the current month, with August 17 recording a daily positivity rate of 9.29 percent.
The 311 new cases include three Central security personnel and their positive statuses were confirmed during testing at RIMS (17), JNIMS (20), District Hospitals (193) and other testing centres (81) .
The number of 311 new cases is the fourth lowest cases recorded in the State during the month with August 16 recording 275 new cases, August 22 (285) and August 23 (270).Manipur also recorded the lowest number of deaths in the current month with 3 people succumbing to the virus during the last 24 hours to take the total death count to 1770 .
For five consecutive days, that is from August 22 to August 26, the daily number of deaths was recorded at 4 .
The deceased persons were residents of Imphal West (1) and Imphal East (2) and out of the three deceased persons, 2 had comorbidities and none had received the vaccination shots, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room, quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The 308 civilians who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (78), Imphal West (125), Thoubal (22), Bishnupur (30), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (15), Churachandpur (13), Chandel (4), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1) a,nd Kangpokpi (3) .
With 311 including three Central security personnel testing positive in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has gone up to 1,12,666 which is inclusive of 4,102 Central security personnel.
On the other hand, 418 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (180), RIMS (11), JNIMS (13), CCCs (76) and CHICs (138) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,07,410 including 4071 Central security personnel to take the recovery rate to 95.33 percent.
The number of active cases is 3486 including 26 Central security personnel.
On August 26, 3508 people received their vaccination shots and the number of vaccinated people now stands at 15,03,839 including 3,22,093 who have received their second jab as well.
A total of 1334 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 326 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State in the last 24 hours.
