Five file nomination papers for by poll

For the by-election to Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency scheduled on October 17, five candidate have filed their nomination papers till date.
The candidates who have filed their nomination papers are Yumnam Radheshyam (AITC), Elangbam Dwijamani (INC), Mayengbam Amutombi (MPP), Maibam Dhanabir (BJP) and Y Thambou (AITC Manipur State) .
The last date for filing nomination papers is September 27.Scrutiny would be held on September 29 while the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers has been fixed on October 1 .
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who came together with party candidate E Dwijamani to file the latter's nomination paper stated that they would fight the by-election on the planks of development, unity, progress, emotional and territorial integrity and peace.

On account of people's confidence on the incumbent Congress Government, development works have been executed/are being executed all over the State.
Congress party being a party which always takes the people into confidence, people would certainly elect the Congress candidate, Gaikhangam exuded.
After people elected a whooping 42 MLAs in the last Assembly election, five other MLAs, convinced by the Congress party's ideology and performance, joined the party thereby taking the party's total strength to 47 .
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, MLAs T Mangibabu, K Ranjit and S Bira also accompanied Dwijamani.
Th Shyamkumar who accompanied AITC candidate Y Radheshyam said that their election campaign is based on territorial integrity, ILP and development.
He confided that people of Hiyanglam A/C would shower their blessings on Radheshyam and elect him to the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
AITC Manipur State legislature wing leader Dr I Ibohalbi maintained there is no controversy over the party's symbol.
He also exuded confidence that the Trinamool Congress would retain the vacant seat.
