8 deaths, 763 new cases reported in last 48 hours

Imphal, August 25 2021:
Low number of tests and low count of new cases continues with Manipur returning figures of 386 and 377 new cases on August 24 and August 25 in the last 48 hours to take the cumulative figure of positive cases in the State to 1,11,975 including 4,098 Central security personnel.
The daily positivity rate on August 24 was 11 percent while on August 25 it has been put at 10 percent.
In the last 24 hours, the virus also claimed 8 lives, four each on August 24 and August 25 to take the total number of deaths to 1763 .
On the other hand a total of 889 people were discharged during the same period of time with August 24 recording 478 persons discharged and August 25, 411 discharge.
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that a total of 377 persons including 7 Central security personnel tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The 370 civilians included 170 women, it said.
The four deaths recorded on August 25 are from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (2) and Thoubal (1), said the statement quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Out of the four deaths, two deceased persons had co-morbidities and none of them had been vaccinated.
The positive status of the 377 persons were detected during testing at RIMS (24), JNIMS (22), District Hospitals (244) and other testing centres (87).The 377 people including the 7 Central security personnel who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (66), Imphal West (145), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (67), Kakching (8), Ukhrul (18), Churachandpur (17), Chandel (5), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (13), Jiribam (1), Noney (3), Pherzawl (3) and Kangpokpi (16) .
Necessary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
In the last 24 hours, 478 persons were discharged from home isolation (198), RIMS (2), JNIMS (14), CCCs (152) and CHICs (112) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,06,229 including 4,063 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 3,572.The recovery rate is 95.23 percent.
On August 24, a total of 4513 people received their vaccination shots to take the total number of vaccinated people to 14,92,777 including 3,13,199 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 1435 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 332 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
