COVID-19 Pandemic 3 deaths, 36 new cases reported

Imphal, February 25 2022:
A significant drop from the figure of 56 to 36 positive cases from February 24 to February 25 but a significant jump in the number of deaths from 1 to 3 in the same period of time, marked Manipur in the last 24 hours.
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room today said that Manipur recorded three deaths in the last 24 hours from Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
All the three deceased persons had co-morbidities, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room and added that out of the three one of them was fully vaccinated while the other two were not vaccinated at all.
With three more deaths, the cumulative number of persons claimed by the virus has gone up to 2108 .
The State also reported 36 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Their positive status was confirmed during testing at RIMS (1) and other testing centres (35) .
The positive cases were detected while testing 1041 samples to take the daily test positivity rate to 3.5 percent.
Noney returned the highest daily TPR with 14.3 percent followed by Ukhrul with 12.9 percent and Kakching with 12.1 percent.
The other districts logged the daily TPR below 5 percent.
The positive cases are drawn from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (9), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (2), Noney (1), Ukhrul 8), Chandel (1) and Senapati (2) .
All necessary measures including contact tracing and containment measures have been taken up.
With 36 more cases added, the cumulative number of infected persons is now 1,36,690 including 5007 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 536 inclusive of 16 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 60 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (46), RIMS (3), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (6) .
The total number of recovered cases is now 1,34,046 including 4984 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 98.07 percent.
On February 24, 5184 Covid dosage were administered and the total number of doses administered is 26,91,527 including 11,27,362 and 58,086 precautionary dosage.
Till date 48.16 percent of the total eligible population have received the second jab and 60.84 percent the first dose.
