CM inaugurates Manipur's first state of the art office complex

Chief Minister O Ibobi has cate-gorically stated that all kinds of subversive and violent acti-vities carried out by anti-social elements including the series of bomb blasts which were repor-ted from different parts of the State recently would not serve any purpose.
The Chief Minister made this statement after inaugurating a Secured Office Complex today at AT Line near 2nd MR gate, Imphal.
In view of the upcoming Republic Day celebration, the State Government has taken up maximum precautionary measures to thwart off any subversive activities.
Ibobi inaugurated the office complex in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, Chief Secretary, Manipur and Chairman of MDS PC Lawmkunga and PHED Minister I Hemo-chandra.
Addressing the inaugural function, the CM said that the new Secured Office Complex was built considering the limited space Imphal city can provide and also the security concerns of various important departments of the State.
"The ever rising population demands all of us to learn how to use space economically and judiciously", Ibobi stated.

He further said that such office complex could prove to be prized assets for the state and the people.
Bureaucratic officers and various departments must perform their works sincerely so that educated unemployed youth could get employment in various sectors.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the inaugural function, Deputy CM Gaikhangam said that the State has achieved remarkable level of development under the dynamic leadership of CM O Ibobi.
He further express-ed his gratitude to the CM for leading the State on various fronts like power, administration, agriculture, health, education etc.
and building a modern Manipur.
He added that the State has been developing rapidly in various sectors and the inauguration of such a complex is indeed a new chapter in the history of Manipur.
The new complex has all the state of the art features like constant monitor room along with 50 CCTV cameras.
Metal detectors and X-ray machines to screen all hand baggages and access to the office will be only through installed security channels.
To provide a modern system of attendance of employ- ees magnetic cards and turnstile have been introduced in the new office complex.
Along with modern fire-fighting equipment, a handloom and handicraft hub with a coffee lounge has been added to attract tourists and customers.
"Such a futuristic complex would last long only if the people working in the complex have a feeling that ultra modern infrastructure belong to them," said Gaikhangam.
He appealed to all the concerned people to keep the office complex neat and clean.
He added that a good working environment and other facilities have been provided not for status symbol but to facilitate healthy work culture for the benefit of the State.
PC Lawmkunga said "The State has gained importance in the international arena, so we need to develop faster as compared to other States and the Central Government is well aware of the growing significance of Manipur in the changing global scenario.
Remarking that the construction of such a secured office complex is a leap forward as far as infrastructure development works in the State are concerned, I Hemochandra urged all the people to maintain the charm and beauty of the building at any cost.
The Secured Office Complex is one of Manipur's first futuristic office with about 70,000 Sq.ft of working space.
The office complex now accommodates Loktak Development Authority (LDA), Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd.
(MSPDCL), Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA), Minority and Other Backward Classes Department (MOBC), Information Technology Department (IT), Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA), Central Board of Worker's Education (CBWE) and Manipur Development Society (MDS) .
The state of the art office complex was conceptualised by MDS Project Director Y Ningthem.
Stating that the Lilong incident was very unfortunate one, Ibobi declared State Government's plans to widen Imphal-Moreh highway very soon.
He further said that detailed reports of the Lilong incident is awaited and necessary steps as demanded or warranted by the reports would initiated promptly.
On account of the new Land Acquisition Act, there are certain limitations which the state Government face and the National Highway come under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
He added that the State Government cannot interfere in the maintenance and development of National Highways by the Ministry.
