79 new cases detected, 62 discharged

Imphal, July 22 2022:
The state on Friday reported 79 new positive cases from 11 districts out of 936 samples tested in the last 24 hours and registered 8.44 per cent positivity rate.
The 79 fresh cases (34 male & 45 female) are residents of Imphal West (34), Imphal East (23), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Kangpokpi (2), Noney (2), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (1) and Tamenglong (1) districts.
Friday also reported 62 recoveries from home isolation (52), Shija Hospital (5), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and Chandel district hospital (1) while the number of active cases rose to 644, out of which 453 (70.34 per cent) are
in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2124 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,38,389 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 196 vaccinated people, out of which 62 had received second doses of Covid vaccines.
There are 19 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 21 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 1144 positive cases and four
deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1119 new positive cased and four death cases.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month dropped to 10.89 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 71 D-type and 1 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 8,842 vaccine doses administered on Thursday that took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,06,824, including 12,78,032 who had received the second dose and 1,66,063 jabbed with the precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49304), Imphal East (30747), Thoubal (10219), Churachandpur (11104), Kangpokpi (3150), Tamenglong
(3484), Bishnupur (9889), Senapati (2505), Ukhrul (3307), Kakching (6930), Chandel (2748), Noney (1169), Tengnoupal (1205), Jiribam (1114), Kamjong (1046), and Pherzawl (468 ).
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,598 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,146
CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,23,675 tests per million population against the national average of 6,19,166 TPM.
Case fatality rate came down to 1.53 per cent and the recovery rate also came down
to 98 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.52 per cent.
