Almost 30 per cent of the people who have been infected by COVID-19 in the State are returnees from Delhi.
On the other hand, out of 1140 samples tested today JNIMS, 19 were found positive for COVID-19 .
Moreover, 44 people tested positive for the contagion at RIMS today taking the total positive cases to 840 .
Of the 44 people tested positive at RIMS today, 20 belong to Kamjong, nine to Tamenglong, three to Imphal West, six to Thoubal and six to Kakching.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed there are now 48 ventilators in the State.
Some of these ventilators have been already provided to some district headquarters, Mao and Moreh which have isolation beds for COVID-19 .

The COVID-19 recovery rate in the State as of Saturday is 29.85.14 people who have been undergoing treatment for the contagion were discharged today after recovery.
It is reported that State natives stranded at Bengaluru would be brought to Jiribam by train on June 24 and 25 .
The COVID-19 State Consultative Committee held a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair this afternoon.
The meeting deliberated on the COVID-19 situation in the State and different measures taken up to combat the pandemic.
Health Department officials who attended the meeting said that 30 per cent of all the people who have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the State are returnees from Delhi.
Returnees from Mumbai and Chennai have the second highest and third highest numbers of COVID-19 cases.
Taking serious note of the rapid and continuous spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, the meeting decided to convert Lamboi Khongnangkhong Trade Centre and Standard College, Kongba into COVID Care Centres, informed a source.
The meeting further decided to increase the number of beds at UNACCO School COVID Care Centre to 350 .
In view of the MBBS exam at JNIMS, the meeting agreed to admit fresh COVID-19 patients in RIMS.
Testing of samples which have not been tested yet was another agenda of the meeting.
Health Department's efforts to open COVID care centres in each and every district were also discussed at the meeting.
It is reported that two trains would bring back State natives from Bengaluru on June 24 and 25 .
Notably, with the number of samples which have not been tested for COVID-19 mounting in the State, regular flights to Imphal have been already reduced.
