Another dies, 90 fresh cases reported

The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic claimed its second victim on Tuesday while government bulletins reported 90 fresh cases from 10 districts out of 911 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 9.88 per cent positivity rate.
The 90 fresh cases (66 male & 24 female) are from Imphal West (51), Imphal East (20), Bishnupur (7), Ukhrul (5), Thoubal (2), Churachandpur (1), Kakching (1), Noney (1), Tamenglong (1) and Tengnoupal (1) districts.
The victim was an unvaccinated 65-year old male from Kakching district with co-morbid conditions.
With this, the death toll from Covid-19
in the state has risen to 2122 .
Tuesday also reported 50 recoveries from home isolation (42), Shija Hospital (5) and RIMS (3) while addition to the new cases led to rise in the number of active cases to 576, out of which 439 (76.22 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2121 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,38,123 individuals including 5,014 CAPF
personnel.
The virus has claimed the lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second dose of Covid vaccine.
There are 23 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 18 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 878 positive cases and two deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 853 new positive case and two death cases.
The cumulative
positivity rate for the current month declined to 11.77 per cent from 12.13 per cent on Monday.
In the last 24 hours, 86 D-type and 26 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health
facilities and 10,738 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,04,382, including 12,74,192 who had received the second dose and 1,43,669 jabbed with the precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49184), Imphal East (30687), Thoubal
(10203), Churachandpur (11082), Kangpokpi (3146), Tamenglong (3480), Bishnupur (9878), Senapati (2503), Ukhrul (3301), Kakching (6925), Chandel (2743), Noney (1167), Tengnoupal (1205), Jiribam (1113), Kamjong (1041), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (705), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati
(12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (123), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,513 confirmed
cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,103 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,22,699 tests per million population against the national average of 6,18,148 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.05 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.52 percent.
