Imphal, April 18 2015 :
BJP president Amit Shah has categorically stated that Congress party should be uprooted from all the North Eastern States including Manipur if there should be development and corruption-free governance in the region.
Addressing a public rally at Singjamei Chingamathak Hao Ground this afternoon, Amit Shah called upon the people to create a new Mani-pur and a new India devoid of Congress party.
After travelling for eight hours along Dimapur-Imphal road, Amit Shah reached Imphal from Kohima at around 4 pm together with BJP National general secretary Ram Lal and National executive member Tapir Gao.
From the State capital, the BJP president and his team when straight to the Utlou Mayai Leikai residence of BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba where he had his lunch.
After he had had his lunch, Amit Shah addressed a public rally at Singjamei Chinga-mathak Hao Ground.

He stated that development is simply impossible as long as there is Congress party in the country.
To make India a progressive country and Manipur a progressive State, Congress party must be abolished for good.
Despite being in power for a prolonged period, no development programmes were taken up in hill areas of the State which is a manifestation of the Congress party's unwillingness to take develop- ment to hill areas.
In case people elect BJP to power in the forthcoming ADC election, it would certainly prove to be a significant step towards bringing transparent and corruption-free governance in the State.
Stating that he has been visiting the North Eastern States with the primary objective of strengthening BJP in the region, Amit Shah informed that the first phase of his tour took him to Mizoram, Nagaland and Manipur.
If one divides India into Eastern India and Western India figuratively, one can see that Western India has achie-ved certain level of develop- ment while Eastern India has been languishing in underdevelopment.
Taking due note of this disparity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has focused his attention on development of the country's eastern region.
Even as the Congress party formulated the Look East Policy, nothing was done on ground.
BJP re-invented the same policy as Act East Policy and the NDA Government has already started investing maximum efforts for the growth and development of North East India.
It was at the initiative of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's that the DoNER Ministry was set up exclusively for the North East region with the primary objective of accelerating deve- lopment in the region.
But for the past 10 years, the Congress Government kept DoNER Ministry bridled at Delhi.
Since Narendra Modi assumed the office of Prime Minister, the office of the DoNER Ministry has been shifted to Shillong and its Secretary has been visiting the North Eastern States on rotational basis at the instruction of the Prime Minister, Amit Shah stated.
The first edition of the Song and Dance of North East Festival was held at Delhi under the aegis of the DoNER Ministry recently.
The festival would be held every year with one of the North Eastern States as host.
This festival would provide a perfect platform to highlight the art and culture of the North Eastern States, he asserted.
Declaring that the Government of India has already sanctioned Rs 2000 crore for development of road infrastructure in the North East, the BJP president pointed out that Rs 100 crore has been already sanctioned for establishment of a National Sports University in Manipur.
It is a matter of pride that champion pugilist Mary Kom took birth in Manipur.
At the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an amount of Rs 1200 crore has been provided to NLCPR for improving power situation in the region.
Notwithstanding all the funds sanctioned for different purposes, real development would remain elusive as there is Congress Government in the State, Amit Shah averred.
People need to take pro-active roles and wipe out Congress party from the North East if there should be speedy development in the region.
The region needs BJP for development to become a reality.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Jan Dhan Yojana on August 15, 2014 with a view to extend material benefits to 15 crore poor people of the country.
So far, 14 crore people have opened their bank accounts under the scheme, claimed Amit Shah.
By enrolling around 10 crore people, BJP has now become the biggest political party in the country, asserted Ram Lal and he called upon the gathering to wipe out Congress from Manipur as well as from all over the country.
Th Chaoba claimed that three lakh electorates of Manipur including one lakh Christians have enrolled in BJP so far as against the target of four lakh.
This is a clear indication that BJP would win the forthcoming ADC election, he added.
