COVID-19 claims three more lives; HC Judge positive
Manipur reaches 50 mark death tally

Imphal, September 16 2020:
With three more patients succumbing to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours the death toll in the State has reached 50 .
The three passed away at JNIMS.
Two of the three deceased were from Imphal East while another one was from Thoubal, according to reports from JNIMS today.
All the three deceased suffered from co-morbidities.
Of the three, one is a 63 three year old man from Thoubal who was admitted to JNIMS on September 13 .
He passed away at abut 6.30 pm yesterday and suffered from lung infection.
Another deceased is a 75 year old woman from Imphal East who was admitted to the hospital on September 13 and she passed away about 5.50 am today.
She was a heart patient, said sources from JNIMS.
A 53 year old man also from Imphal East who was admitted to JNIMS yesterday passed away at about 5.30 am today.
He was suffering from heart ailment.
On the other hand a total of 111 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours.
A late report said that a Judge of Manipur High Court, Justice LS Jamir tested positive for the virus today evening at RIMS.
He is under self isolation presently, said sources.
Spokesperson and Additional Director of Health Services Dr Sasheekumar Mangang, in a statement said the new cases include 17 CAPF personnel.
The 111 were tested positive at RIMS, JNIMS, RD Wing, Ukhrul, Imphal East, Thoubal, Shija Hospital, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Jiban Hospital, Babina Diagnostic and Raj Medicity.
Of the 111 who tested positive in the last 24 hours, 26 are from Imphal West, 29 from Imphal East, 18 from Thoubal, Noney 3, Kangpokpi 1, Churachandpur 10, Bishnupur 4 .
The other 17 are CAPF personnel and another is a Judge of the High Court of Manipur.
On the other hand 101 have been discharged from different treatment centres after recovering from the infection.
Those discharged include 23 CAPF personnel, two from RIMS, 6 from JNIMS, 10 from CCC Lamding Thoubal, 11 at Churachandpur, 5 from CCC UNACCO, 35 from CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong, 4 at Senapati, and 5 at Kangpokpi.
The recovery rate as on September 16 stands at 78.37 percent.
The total positive cases in Manipur now stands at 8321 (6459 from amongst the general population, 1862 CAPF personnel) .
The active cases stand at 1752 (1447 general population and 305 CAPF personnel).
The total number of patients who have recovered now stands at 6521 (general population-4967 and CAPF personnel 1554).According to a late evening report 12 staff of Imphal West SP including his security personnel and four staff of Imphal West SDPO tested positive today.
Another 12 persons also tested positive via Rapid Antigen Test at Thoubal late today.
