16 new cases logged in last 48 hours

Imphal, April 15 2022:
The State reported 16 fresh Covid cases in the last 48 hours with as many as 13 updated on Thursday (April 14) alone.
On April 14, the single day positivity rate also rose to 5.3 per cent as 13 persons were confirmed Covid positive out of 245 samples tested but the same dropped to 1.7 per cent the following day (April 15) with three testing positive out of 174 samples sent for confirmation.
As per a statement of COVID-19 Common Room, the 16 fresh cases reported in the 48 hours are residents of Imphal East (2), Imphal West (3),BIshnupur (2), Chandel (5), Churachandpur (2), Kangpokpi (1) and Thoubal (1) .
The death toll remains unchanged at 2120 as virus claimed none in the same period.
At least 5 persons were also discharged after recuperation from Home Isolation (3) and CCCs (2).With this figure, the recovered cases have mounted to 1,35,016 while the recovery rate stands at 98.42 per cent as per the latest bulletin.
Yesterday, the State distributed 34 D-type and 6 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health facilities in Manipur and administered 556 Covid vaccine doses.
In terms of Covid beds availability, at least 299 beds are currently vacant at JNIMS while another 189 are unoccupied at RIMS.
According to the bulletin, 50.91 per cent of State's eligible population have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 61.61 per cent have received at least one dose.
