Medical kits distributed by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council

To ensure first aid to job card holders in case of injuries while performing work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Chairman of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council SH Seipu today distributed medical kit bags to various village chiefs.
Out of the three blocks under Sadar Hills, the medical kit bags were distributed for the first time for Kangpokpi block during a function organised by DRDA Senapati at the office of ADC Kangpokpi today.
Of the 181 villages under jurisdiction of Kangpokpi block, in all 150 medical kit bags have been distributed among the village chiefs block during the function.
It is said that similar medical kit bags for Saitu Block which has 250 villages and Saikul block which has 266 villages would also be distributed very soon.
Speaking at the occasion, Seipu explained that the medical kit bags were being provided through the respective village chiefs to ensure first aid among the job card holders, who are guaranteed job for 100 days in a year under MGNREGS, in case they suffer any physical injuries while performing their work.
So, the village chiefs should ensure that the benefit for first aid is provided to the job card holders in need of them directly.

Chairman of MGNREGS Committee, ADC Sadar Hills Roingam Thanga also reiterated that the medical kit bags being provided for the first time after devolution of power to Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council are not for just keeping in the houses of the village chiefs.
But for use and provide the benefit to the in time of need.
Executive director of DRDA Senapati Y Rupachandra observed that the medical kit bags are being provided after items like water filter and Sintex at the work sites have been ensured.
