147 new cases, no Covid death in last 24 hours

Imphal, October 09 2021:
The State recorded 147 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the active cases to 1,716 as per COVID-19 Common Control Room.
However, there was no fatality in the said period and the death toll remains at 1,882 .
The last two time the State reported no Covid death were on September 7 and 25 last.
District wise, the number of Covid fatalities is highest in Imphal West with 628 deaths reported so far, followed by Imphal East (444) and Bishnupur (188) .
The daily test positivity rate reported for the period is 6.6 percent which is marginally higher than 5.3 percent updated on Friday as 2,229 samples were tested from across the State.
Though the State kept its daily test positivity rate below 10 percent, Pherzawl saw a staggering rise in Covid positivity rate as it was 33.3 percent updated on Saturday with result of 1 out of 3 samples tested returning positive, followed by Ukhrul with 12.2 percent which witnessed 6 positive cases from among the 49 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The Covid positive cases added in the last 24 hours include 2 CAPF personnel and they were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (17) and other testing centres (129) .
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (32), Imphal West (77), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (3), Chandel (5), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (1), Pherzawl (1) and Kamjong (2) .
The recovery rate, on the other hand, has been decreased to 97.5 against 97.7 updated on Friday as only 114 were discharged after recovery today, which is comparatively lesser than the new Covid cases added in the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, 791 D type and 153 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities in Manipur while 11,073 Covid vaccine doses were administered on October 8 .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 200; ICU/HDU beds 24), JNIMS (general beds 36; ICU/HDU beds 5), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 48; ICU/HDU beds 38) and Raj Medicity (general beds 76; ICU/HDU beds 20) .
