Daily TPR drops below 1 pc mark

With 10 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the State's active cases have dipped further to 96 while cumulative cases rose to 1,36,931, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The positive cases were detected while testing 1,373 samples bringing down the daily positivity rate to 0.7 per cent.
In the same period, one unvaccinated person died of Covid infections, mounting the death toll to 2116 .
Among the districts, Imphal West still tops the death chart at 703 while Pherzawl is at the bottom with no deaths reported so far.
The fresh Covid cases were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (7) and they are residents of Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
25 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (18), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (3) after recuperation in the last 24 hours, thereby improving the recovery rate and recovered cases to 98.38 per cent and 1,34,719 respectively.
As per the bulletin, altogether 404 Covid beds are unoccupied at JNIMS (285) and RIMS (119) .
Yesterday, the State distributed 252 D type and 76 B type oxygen cylinders and on the same day 3720 Covid vaccine doses were administered.
Till March 8, the State has fully vaccinated 49.43 per cent of its eligible population while another 61.21 per cent has been partially vaccinated.
