Two more succumb to take death toll to 80

While the death toll climbed to 80, 249 fresh cases have been added to the State's total tally of COVID-19 positive people during the last 24 hours.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, a 75-year old man from Imphal East and a 40 year-old man from Thoubal died at JNIMS this morning.
It is said that both of them were suffering from diabetes.
In the meantime, 249 persons including six personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Imphal West, Senapati, Thoubal, Babina Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, CMC, Noney, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Hillside Hospital, Little Clinic, RD Wing, Tamenglong, Advance Hospital and Asian Hospital.
Of the 243 civilians who have been tested positive, 87 belong to Imphal West, 88 to Imphal East, three to Thoubal, 17 to Bishnupur, one to Chandel, two to Senapati, 26 to Churachandpur, four to Ukhrul, 10 to Tamenglong and five to Noney.
Out of them, 234 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
Altogether 122 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from RIMS (7), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong ((12), CCC UNACCO (17), CCC Noney (15), Sadbhavna Mandap (3), CCC Kakching (7), RD Wing (9), CCC Ukhrul (17), CCC Jiribam (1), CCC Lamding (11), CCC Thoubal (14), CCC Chandel (2), home isolation (1) and CAPF (6) .
The cumulative figure of positive cases has reached 12,489 (general population 10,010, Central security personnel 2479) .
This figure includes 2805 active cases (general population 2427, Central security personnel 378) and 9604 discharged cases (general population 7506, Central security personnel 2098) .
The recovery rate as on Wednesday is 76.89 per cent.
Meanwhile, a late report informed that out of 492 samples tested today at JNIMS, 48 were found infected by the contagion.
