Covid claims two more, TPR declines to 12.4 pc

Even as today's positivity rate (TPR) has declined to 12.4 per cent as compared to yesterday's 13.3 per cent, two individuals from Imphal West and Thoubal succumbed to the contagion during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 2059 .
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, both the victims had co-morbidities.
One of them had taken second dose of Covid vaccine while the other was not vaccinated.
Altogether 217 persons including one CAPF personnel were confirmed positive at RIMS (12), JNIMS (23) and other testing centres (182) .
The 126 civilians are residents of Imphal East (46), Imphal West (79), Thoubal (23), Bishnupur (17), Kak-ching (14), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (5), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (5), Noney (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (5) and Churachandpur (15) .
Kamjong district logged the highest daily positivity rate of 57.1 per cent followed by Kakching 19.4 per cent, Bishnupur 17.9 per cent and Thoubal 17.3 per cent.
Following recovery, 315 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (226), RIMS (7), JNIMS (16) and CCCs (66), according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,34,661 (general population 1,29,688 and Central security personnel 4,973) .
This figure is inclusive of 3793 active cases (general population 3655 and Central security personnel 138) and 1,28,809 recovered cases (general population 1,23,981 and Central security personnel 4,828) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 95.65 per cent.
A total of 246 D-type oxygen cylinders and 96 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Friday.
Currently, 77 (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 52 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
Taking into account 10,554 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has risen to 25,54,897 (first dose 14,50,494, 2nd dose 10,66,967 and precautionary dose 37,436) .
Till Friday, 45.58 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given both the first and second dose of Covid vaccine while 59.22 per cent has received the first dose.
