Covid-19 claims 7 more, positive tally up by 362

Imphal, May 03 2021:
The State witnessed the highest single day COVID-19 fatality and positive cases in 2021 with seven persons succumbing to the contagion and 362 testing positive during the last 24 hours.
Among the latest victims, three hailed from Imphal West, two from Thoubal and one each from Imphal East and Kakching, according to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The three victims from Imphal West were aged 64 (female), 50 (male) and 60 (female) .
The victims from Thoubal were aged 45 (female) and 54 (male).
The victims who hailed from Imphal East and Kakching were aged 59 (male) 43 (male, CAPF) .
They expired at Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity and RIMS.
COVID-19 has so far claimed 422 lives in the State.
On the other hand, 362 people were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
They belong to Imphal West (146), Imphal East (122), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (22), Kakching (23), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (14), Chandel (5), Tamenglong (2), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (8), Noney (2) and Kamjong (1) .
Following recovery, 107 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (75), CAPF (10), RIMS (16), RD Wing (2), Raj Medicity (1) and Shija Hospital (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 32,523 (general population 28,938 and Central security personnel 3,585) .
It includes 2071 active cases (general population 1953 and Central security personnel 118) and 30,030 recovered cases (general population 26,568 and Central security personnel 3,462).The recovery rate as on Monday is 92.33 per cent.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 25 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 16-21 and 6E-21 in rows 29-35 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
Meanwhile, no positive case was detected among 16 air passengers tested for COVID-19 at Imphal Airport today.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the cumulative number of people vaccinated against the virus in the State has reached 2,09,074 .
All persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccination centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
