37 new cases take Covid tally to 541

Imphal, July 31 2022:
The total number of Covid-19 active cases in the state stands at 541 following the detection of 37 new cases and recovery of 78 patients on Sunday recording 7.3 per cent test positivity rate.
The 37 new active
Covid-19 cases included 16 males and 21 females, out of which 11 patients are from Imphal West, 8 from Imphal East, 5 from Churachandpur, 4 from Bishnupur, 2 each from Senapati, Kangpokpi and Pherzawl and
1 each from Thoubal and Chandel.
On Sunday, 78 patients were discharged home isolation (52), RIMS (11) and SHRI (2) while backlogged cases of discharge accounted for 13.Out of the 38 Covid beds at JNIMS, 15 are vacant while RIMS has 32 Covid beds out of its total of 62 .
So far, the state has recorded 1829 positive cases and nine deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic with July accounting for 1804 of the new cases and nine fatalities.
As on Saturday, 316 D-type and 13 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities in the state and 3080 vaccine doses administered on Friday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,14,496, of which 12,86,829 have been jabbed with the second dose and 2,04,028 taken the precautionary doses.
