BOSEM notifies Alternative English back in study scheme

Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) has notified to all concerned that Additional English is reintroduced/reinstated in the scheme of study for class IX and X in lieu of Modern Indian Language (MIL) and another option for indigenous tribal students domiciled in Manipur irrespective of the conditions whether their mother-tongues have been recognized as an MIL subjects or not until further orders.
Accordingly, the last date of submission of forms for the HSLC Examination 2016 has been extended, for all schools (both hills and valleys) under the Board, to January 5, 2016 without late fine and January 11, 2016 with late fine of Rs 200 per student.
Furthermore, the late fine already paid w.e.f.December 17 will be refunded/adjusted to the respective schools.

The indigenous tribal students who want to change to Additional English in lieu of First Language (MIL) recognized by the Board can do so after payment of Rs 1000 as subject correction fee, according to a statement issued by the Secretary of BOSEM.
Significantly the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur, the Kuki Students' Organisation (Hqs) and the Hill District's Recognized Private Schools Association (HIDIPSAM) had stated that if Alternative English is not offered to the hill students then they would boycott the Class X examination.
On November 4 this year, a large number of students across the hill districts of the State staged massive rallies to roll back the decision of the State Government to scrap Alternative English from the scheme of study for Class IX and Class X.Education (S) Director notifies : Director of Education (S) has informed to all concerned that eight students of Science stream and five students of Arts stream who have been selected in State Merit Scholarship 2013 were found enjoying Post Matric Scholarship under Directorate of Minorities & Other Backward Classes, Government of Manipur.
As per guidelines of the State Merit Scholarship, no student should receive any other scholarship/stipend for a course of study for which he/she is in receipt of the said merit scholarship.

The above 13 students who have been found enjoying Post Matric Scholarship have been deleted from the list of the State Merit Scholarship 2013.Any complaint/objection in connection with this notification will be entertained at Room no 49 of Director of Education (S) during office hours till December 31 and after which no complaints will be entertained, according to a statement issued by the Director of Education (S) .
