The Prime Minister will also inaugurate NIT at Kangla and address a public meeting at Kangla starting from 3 pm of December 3 .
It is being speculated that the Prime Minister would be accompanied by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and DoNER Minister Pawan Ghatowar during his visit to Manipur.
Ahead of the Prime Minister's visit, repairing and beautification works of Imphal city are going in full swing since the last few days.
Demonstrating his concern for the situation besieging Manipur, the Prime Minister had earlier written to former Union Commerce Minister Dr Mohan Dharia informing that the Centre is reviewing the situation of essential commodities in Manipur on a daily basis.
"We have arranged for their transport on the two highways despite the blockade, by organising convoys and protection for trucks carrying essential commodities into Manipur.
Let me assure you that we will work together with State Government to do everything possible to improve the situation that you describe," wrote the Prime Minister to the former Minister.
The Prime Minister's despatch came after Dr Mohan Dharia wrote to him giving the details of the situation in the State.
The letter of Dr Dharia was based on the inputs received from Dr Rahman, former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University who was deputed to Manipur after a team from the State gave a detailed account to SARHAD, an NGO sometime in September at Pune.
Dr Dharia is the chairman of a unit of SARHAD.
