CPI Manipur State Council has alleged that BJP Manipur Pradesh was enrolling many people through mobile SMS or internet service without any knowledge of the concerned individuals.
Speaking to media persons at their office today, CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara said that they were taken by surprise when they found the names of IMC Ward No 27 Councillor Soraisam Memsana and her family members in the list of the online membership drive of BJP in respect 17/34 Naoremthong Khullem Leikai under 17-Lamsang A/C.For the deceitful enrolment, a legal notice was served to BJP on October 12 .

S Memsana and her family have also filed a complaint at Lamphel police station against enrolment of their names in the list of BJP members without their knowledge.
Citing the case of Memsana and her family, Dr Nara asserted that the claim of BJP Manipur Pradesh of enrolling 4.5 lakh people in Manipur was a bogus one.
A large number of the so-called members might have been enrolled without their knowledge, he continued.
He categorically stated that CPI would not put up any candidate in the by-election scheduled on November 21 .
Nonetheless, he appealed to all the voters to exercise their right to vote judiciously.
Just because CPI is not contesting the by-election, it does not mean the party would sit idle.
CPI would soon launch a campaign on voting conscientiously and the party would always fight against corruption and graft practices.
Pointing that both bandh supporters and common people suffer alike when there is any bandh or blockade, Dr Nara asserted that both the Central and State Governments should take up necessary measures to neutralize bandhs, blockades and other forms of disturbances on highways rather than acting as silent spectators.
